Thank you for your time and have a nice day!

Growing up in Florida, where lightning storms are daily during the summer, most of us were told to run under a tree if caught outside. There used to be a lot of trees on the beach (sigh) and that was where we would run. Don't do it! A tree is a likely target for a lightning strike if there are no other buildings or objects nearby that will direct its path. A lightning strike is looking for a direct path to ground (negative charges from the cloud to positive charges from the ground). The absolute best place to be during a lightning storm is inside a building with full lightning protection systems. A system is 99% effective when installed by a licensed lightning protection installer. The next best place is inside a building or vehicle! That is another myth - the rubber tires keep you safe and grounded and deflect the lightning charge. It is in fact the metal body of the car that protects the occupants - if your car is fiberglass - it is as unsafe as being outside!
